MEMBERSHIP
Any business entity actively engaged in business as a maltster, brewer, or malting brewer is eligible for membership. AMBA has two ongoing categories, Regular membership and a newly created Associate membership, and one transitional category for larger companies, Exploratory membership.
REGULAR: Regular Members pay dues of $3.37 per 1,000 barrels of beer shipped or $4.82 per 1,000 bushels of barley steeped the previous calendar year or minimum dues of $5,200. Any member paying minimum dues or more has a voting representative on the AMBA Board of Directors and Technical Committee and thus input into variety development and other programs.
EXPLORATORY: Brewing or malting companies with volume that would generate at least Regular Member minimum dues qualify for this one-time, one-year membership, paying no dues. An Exploratory Member has a non-voting representative on the Board and Technical Committee. At the end of one year, they can join as a dues paying Regular Member to continue membership.
ASSOCIATE: For companies with volume that would generate less than the Regular Member minimum dues of $5,200 and that do not want to pay this amount to have representatives on the Board and Technical Committee, joining as an Associate Member is an option. Associate Member company personnel receive AMBA member only email communications and Gleanings newsletters on barley plantings, production, varieties, and stocks. They also have access to the member only section of the AMBA web site, which has information on malting barley varieties, research, production, and other items. Associate Members pay the same dues rate as Regular Members, with minimum dues of $520.
Associate membership provides a way for a smaller brewer to help AMBA meet its mission and objectives, at a reasonable cost and provides membership benefits, primarily information.
For all membership categories, a company can provide us with as many company personnel email addresses as desired, and they will all be added to our members only email list for AMBA communications. They will also be provided with password access to our member only section of the web site.
If your company is interested in joining AMBA, please contact:
